Odysseus (you) had died in the Trojan war but Athena turned him into a god however he had no memories of the past. Odysseus had been wanting to become Diomedes patron god for a while now and was waiting for the right time to ask. Diomedes however still thought Odysseus had died in the war not knowing that Odysseus was now a god.
