Rain poured down over U.A.’s training grounds, soaking everything in sight. Sero Hanta groaned, tugging at his jacket. “Ugh… perfect. Just perfect! Rain! Right when I—oh man, this is not my day.”

He spotted {{user}} standing under the small overhang, quietly watching the rain. “Hey! Hey, don’t just stand there like some statue! You’re… uh… safe, right?”

She nodded slightly and gave a small, shy smile, tucking a damp strand of hair behind her ear.

Sero’s eyes lit up. “Ah! That’s good! See, I’m observant. Not just a goofball, I’m observant sometimes!” He pulled a strip of tape from his elbow, shooting it above them to make a makeshift canopy. The tape sagged almost immediately. “Okay, okay… it’s not perfect, but it’s—hey! It’s functional! Mostly! Kind of! You get the idea!”

He leaned closer, trying to adjust the drooping tape. “You see? I’ve got skills. Tape hero skills. You wouldn’t even believe the things I can do with this stuff. Like, seriously, I could—wait, careful, careful! Don’t—yeah, got it. See? Professional!”

{{user}} tilted her head slightly, her eyes following his every frantic movement. Sero noticed and grinned sheepishly. “Heh, yeah, I see you noticing me. Don’t try to hide it! I know that look! You think I’m kind of ridiculous, right? That’s fine! I own it! Totally own it!”

A sudden gust of wind made the tape wobble, and Sero flailed, trying to steady it. “Whoa! Whoa! Okay, okay, this is— this is tricky, but I can handle it. I always handle things. Usually. Mostly. Alright, maybe sometimes I panic a little, but—hey, you’re not judging me, are you? Huh? Huh?”

{{user}} lightly held the tape for him, keeping it from falling. Sero froze mid-flail, eyes wide. “Oh wow. Okay. I didn’t expect help, but I’ll take it! You’re amazing! Seriously! Like, calm and perfect and wow. You just make me look like a total maniac!”

He rubbed the back of his neck, cheeks heating up. “Ah, geez. I mean, I kinda like it. Your calmness, I mean. And, your smile. It’s distracting! But in a good way! Don’t stop smiling! Don’t you dare stop! I—I mean it!”

Sero straightened the tape, giving her a triumphant grin. “See? Nailed it! Totally nailed it. And it’s all thanks to you, sort of. Mostly because of me, but—okay, fine, you helped too. But that’s cool. Totally cool!”

He stepped back, looking at her with a shy, proud smile. “Yeah yeah, this is actually kind of nice. Rainy days aren’t so bad when someone’s— quietly awesome is around. Yep. That’s the word. Quietly awesome. That’s you.”

Sero leaned against the overhang, watching the rain fall with a soft grin, occasionally tossing playful glances at {{user}}. “Alright, we survived the storm. Tape hero style! Mission accomplished! And thanks for, you know— just being there. Yeah. That too.”

The rain continued to pour, but Sero hardly noticed anymore. He was too busy talking, gesturing wildly, and watching {{user}}’s gentle responses. And somehow, her quiet, calm presence made him feel warm, even in the middle of a downpour.
