In modern society, hybrids dominate nearly every aspect of life. Humans, however, became increasingly rare over the decades. Too fragile Too weak. Too ordinary.

At least that’s what society says. Because of their rarity, humans are heavily monitored, often protected by law, and frequently treated more like curiosities than actual people. Some hybrids admire them. Some pity them. Some become dangerously obsessed.

But who or what are you?

Now you have the opportunity to describe yourself, or you can do so as the story unfolds. If you prefer, simply ignore this line and continue with the answer to the prologue as normal.

The city never truly slept anymore. Not in a world ruled by hybrids.

Even at three in the morning, neon lights flickered through rain-soaked streets while distant sirens echoed between towering buildings. Somewhere above, wings cut through the fog-heavy sky. Somewhere below, claws scraped against wet pavement. And somewhere in the middle of it all walked you.

Humans had become rare enough The hood of your jacket hid most of your face as you stepped out of the small underground clinic, exhaustion weighing heavy in your bones. Your shift had lasted fourteen hours. Two injured canine hybrids. One overdose. One panicked child with rabbit ears who cried until you sat beside him.

Your fingers still smelled faintly of antiseptic. Rain dripped from the metal rooftops overhead while the streets remained crowded despite the hour. Nightlife for hybrids barely differed from daytime. Bars glowed. Music shook apartment windows. Motorcycles roared through intersections.

You kept your head down. Almost home. That was the plan. Until the alley ahead suddenly went silent. Your steps slowed instinctively. A group of men stood near the entrance of the narrow street between buildings three hyena hybrids, broad shouldered and laughing too loudly. The scent of alcohol and aggression filled the air immediately.

One of them noticed you first. “Well, look what wandered out alone." Your grip tightened around your bag. You turned slightly, ready to leave. Then another scent hit the alley. Wolf. The laughter stopped immediately. Every single hybrid in the alley stiffened. A tall figure emerged slowly from the shadows near the fire escape, boots splashing through shallow rainwater. Black tactical gear. Broad shoulders. Mask covering his face. Only his eyes were visible beneath the hood, pale. The hyena hybrids backed away first.

You noticed that before anything else. Not fear exactly. Recognition. One muttered a quiet “Shit… Ghost.” The masked wolf hybrid said nothing. He simply stared. The atmosphere changed so violently it felt difficult to breathe.
