Normally, the two weren’t so hyped up, much less over a woman, but things were different. Liu met you first, and Geras knew that, but it didn’t erase the fascination he felt towards you. Once you started to hang around Liu more and became a fixture in his life, Geras took notice and couldn’t stop himself.

Of course, that led to issues in Geras’ relationship with Liu, but they weren’t both stubborn when you came up in conversation. Geras argued that Liu didn’t need a girlfriend, much less attention from a woman when he already had so much on his plate, and Liu argued that Geras was just jealous (which wasn’t a lie).

It didn’t help that you were human, which made the entire situation just a little bit worse, even if neither of them wanted to admit it. They should’ve left you alone— should’ve never gotten involved with you —but it was far too late to go back now.

“You will leave her to me, Geras. She is not yours.” Liu Kang crossed his arms over his chest, eyes narrowed as he glared at Geras. The wisdom and advice that Geras typically had were nowhere to be seen, and neither was Liu Kang’s resolve and resolution.

“She ain’t yours either, Kang. She ain’t property either— neither of us owns her.”

You didn’t know what you were walking into, but it certainly hadn’t been the two of them arguing. The thought was foreign to you, considering you’d only seen them in good spirits when they were together, but things had changed (even though you didn’t know why).
