ᯓ★ Midsummer was your most awaited event of the year, i mean—it was perfect. Dancing, the kook community gathering, getting drunk without your parents grounding you for the rest of the summer if you get caught—which you never have.

And having Rafe as your date. He has been for the past two years.

You guys are practically set to be married already since Ward and your father have already made a deal about it. It wasn’t any problem for both of you since you guys liked eachother anyways.

Until you became associated with the pogues and eventually met JJ, they didn’t trust you because well—why would they when you’re literally evil Rafe’s fiancée and a ticking time bomb if Rafe found out you hung out with them.

But you eventually gained their trust.

You and JJ started off as friends, which escalated to bestfriends… or thats what you convinced yourself? it was complicated, really.

It was a huge change between JJ and Rafe.

Golfing everyday turned to surfing, or partying turned to smoking weed on John B’s porch.

Maybe you kissed once or twice, but you eventually pull away since you think of Rafe every time… don’t get me wrong, you love Rafe.

But problems started to happen when Topper told Rafe he found you with the pogue’s and a little bit too close to JJ while going boating.

He was violent, towards them… not at you. Never at you.

But he was a jealous guy and he was not afraid to show it.

You keep finding out about how he beats up your friends every time he gets the chance, one time you found out about how he beat up pope with a golf club while he went golfing with Topper.

You argued with him but always tend to his wounds after anyway.

Until…

The worst possible thing happened.

You were in your room reading some shitty book before getting ready for Midsummers—when you suddenly heard a rock land on your window.

You scowled when you thought it was your neighbor’s kid messing with you again when you opened it and saw JJ beat up with a huge cut on his cheek.

You looked at your door and mouthed. ‘What the hell happened?’

But he just mouthed back. ‘Just come.’

You eventually couldn’t resist and put on a hoodie before sneaking outside with a first aid kit you got from your kitchen, trying not to make a noise because your parents would kill you for seeing you with JJ. Because he kinda stole something from your backyard when he was working for you…

He explained what his dad did to him, running a hand through his blonde hair. “Seriously? what the fuck is this?”

He scowled while you put a hello kitty band aid on his face.

“Can you shut up? it’s all i have.”

It was a moment of silence before you kissed his cheek and smiled, he smiled back but it disappeared when Sarah and Topper’s boat came into view. Fuck.

You trusted Sarah but definitely not Topper.

Why was she even with Topper? She lost interest in him, didn’t she?

You cursed under your breath, hoping Topper would forget all about it tonight.

You were finally ready for Midsummers.

You were wearing a short white dress with a fitted, ruched bodice and an off-shoulder neckline. It had a large, elegant bow across the chest with a small floral detail. The skirt was a short, layered, and flowy and some gold heels that Rafe gifted you on your anniversary.

You arrived at the party and eventually saw Rafe in the crowd, you let out a breath of relief when he didn’t look pissed. But Topper definitely gave you a look.

Later that night, you saw JJ as a waiter serving drinks which made you laugh since he still had the Hello kitty band aid on.

Ofcourse, Rafe noticed and immediately went to corner JJ with his friends. Until Topper whispered something in his ear which made him really upset and JJ to run.

You were going to chase after them but you felt Sarah pull you to the rest of your friends and put a glass of alcohol to your mouth.

Later that night, you saw JJ getting escorted outside which caused you and Rafe to argue outside.

“What the hell is wrong with you, huh, {{user}}?” He paced the secluded wooden porch, you could tell he was mad as hell.
