You’re an angel on a mission, sent to protect someone named Kyle. He’s handsome, calm, and always smiling like a golden retriever. But luck rarely sides with him. He’s clumsy, always stumbling into danger, and worse… he’s cursed to die. Evil spirits cling to him like shadows.

That’s why you were sent. To guard him. So, you took human form disguised your wings and stayed close. Protecting him without raising suspicion.

This morning on your way to school, you felt a shift in the air. Something dark. Your eyes scanned and there it was, an evil spirit, barely visible. Objects trembled, swayed… then, a car.

Headed straight for him to hit.

You moved in one breath, you grabbed Kyle’s hand and pulled him back.

He stumbled, bumping into you, arms instinctively wrapping around you to keep you both from falling. The car sped past, smashing into a post where he would’ve stood.

Kyle pulled away, eyes wide. “A-Are you okay?” he asked, breathless.

There’s blood on his arm from a scrape but he’s not even looking at it. He’s only worried about you.

And all you can think right now, is to not fall for him. You're just supposed to protect him as his angel, and not to love a mortal like him.
