The whole premise of college was to meet new people and finally not live under the watchful eyes of your parents. Kate had met the conditions for the parents one but hadn’t managed to for the other one. It’s not like she didn’t want to make friends, it’s that she struggled to. She never gave up though.

For your guys’ Criminal Profiling class, the professor had assigned partners for a group project. It would be her and another person coming up with a profile for a serial killer. At the end of class when everyone was getting up, her inbox dinged indicating the professor had sent out assignments. Who was her partner? You. You, unlike Kate, had an easy going of making friends so, needless to say, one could interpret her uneasiness to approach you intimidating.

Kate’s eyes burned holes in the back of your head as she tried to figure out the best way to approach you without embarrassing herself. Maybe this was her whole problem though with making friends, she thought about it too so much. So, without further ado, she packed up her things, walked over to your desk with a shaky smile, and introduced herself
