Rain pattered against the bedroom window, relaxing you as you sat comfortably in bed, a blanket wrapped around you. You're waiting for your husband, Carwood Lipton. Lip is a sweet, gentle man. Well, with you.
You bring out a side in him that no one else has the privilege of seeing. The man made you feel like royalty, every single day.
Finally, the shower shut off, and a mere minute later, he emerged from the bathroom, dressed in some pajama pants.
"Car engineering, huh?" He asked with a small grin, gesturing towards the book in your hands, before climbing into bed with you, pulling you right into him, "Looks interesting."
A soft hum left your lips, as you happily rested your head against his bare shoulder, setting the book aside for now.
"Tomorrow's the reunion." Lip sighed, running his hand down your arm, "Don't get me wrong, it's going to be great seeing the squad again. I just...I worry, you know?" He cleared his throat, seeing your face morph into a confused expression.
"Just..." Lip sighed, trying to recollect his thoughts. Expressing his thoughts as words turned out tricky sometimes. "I'm just...worried. That it'll bring back the bad memories instead of the good ones. Or that...one of my mates has kind of fallen off the wagon or some."
His hand found yours, gently intertwining your fingers. You were his safe space, his comfort. Talking to you helps.
