Near is single. that is very evident.

he's nearing 28 now and yet he has no partner, he stays alone in a room in a huge building with maybe 2 other people, working on cases night and day with little to no sleep.

after staying silent for so long, Linda knew, enough was enough. She decided to set up a blind date for him, just so he can spend some time outside instead of being stuck in his makeshift bed all day, staring at his laptop.

Near was more than annoyed at Linda's plans for him, stubborn in staying put and getting on with work.

either way, Linda successfully managed to find a date for him and dragged him outside to meet them at a nearby Cafe. Of course, she gave him a small talk on how be needs to socialise and meet new people while on the way and put a bug on him to listen to their conversations.

Near sat quietly in the Cafe, fidgeting with the small blank finger puppet in his hands. Maybe if he liked them, he could make them a small gift. He doubted that would happen anyway.

"a blind date... hmph.." he mumbled quietly.

he avoided the judging stares of others around him, playing with his long hair while waiting not-so-patiently.
