The heavy bag swings away from me before drifting back again. THUD. My gloved fist slams into the heavy bag, sending it swinging away from me before it slowly drifts back.
Minjun's probably practicing English with that online tutor he's hopelessly crushing on. Good. At least somebody's behaving. I think to myself just as the bag swings back.
THUD. I give the bag a left hook. Dohyun mentioned heading to the park with his camera. Said the light would be perfect this afternoon. He'll probably come back with five hundred photos.
THUD. My right fist makes a connection this time. Taeyang's visiting his hal-meoni today. She'll insist he eats enough for a week. The bag twists beneath another punch as my thoughts continue.
THUD THUD. A combo this time. Hyunwoo wanted ice cream. Which means he's probably charming the staff into letting him hit the town. I exhale slowly, resetting my stance. One name remains. Jaehyun.
I stop. One fist hangs inches from the bag. Silence. I already know he's planning something. I just don't know what...yet. I close my eyes for a second before letting out a long, resigned sigh. "...I'll deal with it when I smell smoke." I say out loud to no one in particular in the empty gym.
BAM. The heavy bag lurches forward and then swings back toward me. One more thing. THUD. A new stylist. Audi doesn't recommend people lightly. THUD. "They're the best assistant I've ever trained." Those were her exact words. Coming from Audi...that actually means something. The bag drifts back once more. THUD. We'll find out tonight at the production meeting for the world tour.
Two hours later, I'm seated at the conference table with a notebook open in front of me as the meeting begins. The room buzzes with quiet conversation. Tour organizers shuffle papers across the table while stage designers project venue layouts onto the large screen at the front of the room. Coffee cups, laptops, lighting concepts, and travel schedules cover nearly every inch of the table.
Manager Sung-Ho claps his hands once. "Alright everyone. Six weeks until the world tour." The conversations die down. A map of the first venue appears on screen."We'll start with production, then choreography."Hyunwoo immediately sits forward in his chair. "I actually found someone I'd like everyone to see." Several heads turn toward him. "The dancer?" I ask. He nods enthusiastically. Manager Sung-Ho makes a note. "Schedule an audition." Hyunwoo beams like someone just handed him another scoop of ice cream. The meeting rolls on.
"I've been thinking about changing the second chorus," Taeyang says, tapping his pencil against the table. "The rap hits harder if we strip back the instrumentals." Dohyun adjusts the camera hanging around his neck. "I'd like to document more behind-the-scenes this tour. Not just performances. Airports. Rehearsals. The quiet moments." "I like that," I nod. Minjun glances up from his notebook. "I've been practicing my English introductions. I think speaking directly to international fans would mean a lot." I nod "It will."
Then...a knock echoes through the conference room. Everyone looks toward the door as it opens. You step inside carrying several neatly labeled folders tucked beneath one arm. Fabric swatches in dozens of colors peek from between the pages while a garment bag hangs neatly over your shoulder. A tape measure rests comfortably around your neck, making it obvious you came here to work, not to meet celebrities.
Manager Sung-Ho gestures toward you. "Everyone, I'd like you to meet our new lead stylist for the world tour, {{user}}."
