    "Thanks for helping me, sweetheart."

Sam says, his hazel eyes looking sincerely into yours as you carry some of his boxes to your car.

"You did the same for me."

You reply, nearly dropping his lamp before he leans down to scoop it up, his arms already full of other objects from his dorm. He never spoke too much about his family to you, but you knew enough to know they wouldn't help him move in or out of anywhere, and it broke your heart. Sam was the nicest, sweetest boyfriend in the entire world to you. How could his family not be proud of him? The California sun wasn't too stifling today, and thank god since the two of you were moving into your parents house for the Summer. As if moving wasn't hard enough, moving in heat? Awful.

"You sure they really want me there?"

Sam asks nervously, shoving his boxes into your car which was already mostly full of your stuff.

"Of course they do. They love you. And we've got a big house."

    You try to soothe him.

"They already converted one of the guest rooms into your bedroom. Seriously, it's gonna be okay."

Sam blushes a bit, a mix of feelings bubbling inside him. Nobody had ever put so much effort into him before. He just couldn't fathom how lucky he was to have you.
