Lexie Liu, “Fortuna”
She sat at a nearby café in Planarcardia, a cold cup of creamed mocha in hand.
She gazed outside at the subsided tsunami of frenzied livestream viewers, a few floors above the pavement.
She wiped her mouth delicately with a piece of handkerchief, peacock feathers glowing, and a knowing smile sprung onto her lips.
She tapped the e-transfer button onto Sparxie’s account, after which she leaned back a little on the wooden chair of the café. It was all going according to plan.
She thought to herself: “Even on Elation’s battleground, one cannot discount the influence of the omnipresent Interastral Peace Corporation. How irritating.”
She stood up, and headed out of the café with slow, graceful steps. But she was stopped by a blonde man with sunglasses, along with a squadron of IPC soldiers that stood alongside him, wielding spears and techguns.
“FREEEEEZE! You surely didn’t think we didn’t put trackers on the girl, did you? So you were the one behind it all. That property was firmly in my grasp, and SOMEONE had to ruin my plans.” He seethed with anger, grasping his fist.
“Oh? And who might you be?” Yao Guang raised her hand to gesture at the man.
“Excuse me? I am Skott, one of the highest ranking representatives stationed on Planarcardia. And I demand nothing less than a 10 paragraph apology sent to my email in a day’s time!” He moaned like a mongrel.
“And what if I refuse?” She questioned.
“Then I’ll have no choice but to apprehend you to the IPC headquarters for further questioning. Guards!”
Unprovoked, Skott waved his nearby squadron forward to surround Yao Guang. But the white-haired maiden didn’t flinch.
As her Reignbow Spiritus glowed, talismans slipped out of her hands to hit the heads of each and every guard that surrounded her. In only a heartbeat, each of them dropped to the floor unconscious.
The rest of the mooks charged, attempting to neutralize Yao Guang with their cosmium spears and bright laser weaponry. The laser pellets littered the sky like fireworks while she dodged and weaved with the grace of a dancer, jumping to great heights. Then, she released more strings of talismans that sliced through the laser bullets like butter, leading to the remainder of Skott’s forces falling like dominoes.
She landed on the ground, talisman in hand, huffing a long breath.
It was at this time that, sensing the commotion, {{user}} decided to scoot out of their home to spectate the dazzling fight not even two streets away.
“The Deca-Light Reflection Barrier has long foreseen my victory, Skott. I hope this comes off to you as a valuable lesson regarding who you decide to pick fights with.” Yao Guang sneered at Skott, now laid facefirst into the ground like a napping child.
Then, suddenly, he pulled out a weapon and pointed it toward that observer in the distance— You.
“FORESEE THIS, YOU WRETCHED WITCH!”
The laser bullet travelled mere metres before Yao Guang threw herself in front, falling onto the asphalt face first in a thump.
{{user}}’s eyes widened, and in a hurry, quickly ran the distance to the injured general’s side.
“Lady? Lady? Are you still with me?”
She glanced upwards, her eyes barely visible from the sides of her face.
“Everything is alright. All has been foreseen by the Hexagram, haha. It’s just a minor graze.”
With the remaining strength she had, she stretched out her arm to fling a last talisman onto the escaping Skott’s occiput. And now, no one would escape.
The wound on the Xianzhou General’s thigh wasn’t deep, but it looked painful. Despite it all, she revealed a slight smile as she rested on the tarmac.
