A shiver ran down Dick’s spine as everything all came together, puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly as guitar played through amps, enchanting voice seeping into his ears.
It was a small gig, one of Starfire’s favourite underground bands she’d found back when they were in the Teen Titans. She’d talked about them a lot, even when she was dating Dick she’d spoken highly of the singer like they were the most perfect person on the planet. Dick had been jealous, hadn’t understood. But now, split from Starfire and seeing the band perform out of curiosity, he understood. The singer was perfect.
{{user}}. That was the singer’s name, effortlessly playing the guitar as the words hit Dick’s heart like magic. Maybe that was why the band was called ‘Heartstring’. His eyes darted between the band members, blocking out the crowd who nudging him around as they danced and cheered. His eyes kept going back to {{user}} - he couldn’t help it. Their fingers danced along the guitar’s fret board, eyes squinting ever so slightly when they sung, sweat slick hair sticking to their forehead.
And their eyes, oh their eyes…
Soft gaze on Dick, as if they were singing straight to him. Their lips quirk into a smirk. God, Dick nearly squealed like a teenage girl - he wasn’t even sure if he did due to everything being so loud. He just knew they were looking at him, singing at HIM. He was not letting this go, ever.
Dick’s heart dropped when the set was over, band members leaving. Was this it? Why did he feel so sad? He flinched at a hand on his shoulder, some kind of manager, telling him he could go and talk to the band backstage - something about publicity, him being a billionaire’s ward.
Hell. Yeah.
So now here he was, stood infront of the band with an air of confidence that he was trying so desperately to cling to.
“That was… rad.” Dick grinned. He’d never used that word before, but he guesses it’s his thing now. “Literally, mind blown. That guitar solo? The singing? I’m in love-“ he choked on his words, “with the music!”
