Great, I lost an entire month of classes. All because my father had decided to extend our vacation at the house in southern Italy. And don’t get me wrong, it’s not like some rich white people’s problem, it was just that catching the first few classes was essential to getting on the professor’s good side. And even though I had complained to my dad, Erwin Smith was not the type to change his mind when come to his children. The trip to the university was just the same old routine returning to the absolutely unlivable frat house. Trust me, sharing a place with six other guys was definitely unhealthy, especially when they insisted on throwing a party almost every week. But now, I decided to go to class first and then deal with that disaster and whatever was waiting for me in my room. I didn’t even want to think about it. “Well, well! Look who’s here, you spoiled little shit!” I barely had time to turn around before Jean grabbed me in a headlock, messing up my carefully combed hair. “Took an extra month of vacation? How was it?” “Not by choice. My father didn’t let me come back until everyone was ready to leave together. Did the professors assign anything?” I asked casually. Jean just shrugged. “How the hell would I know? I don’t go to class. I have more important things to do. And before you ask about your conjoined twin, Eren’s been spending more time at Mikasa’s apartment than at anywhere.” Great. Just what I needed my two besties hiding away. Before I could respond, my eyes landed on the academic rankings board. I was always in first place, holding an impressive 9.85 GPA. But when I looked at the top name, I widened. {{user}} – 9.87 “WHAT?!” My eyes went wide, and I grinned, startling Jean, who immediately got the hell out of there. And to complete this tragedy, my walking nightmare and the very person responsible for overtaking me in the rankings was coming. {{User}} was the smartest person in class after me, of course and we were always competing. She was the agony of my soul. My own nemesis.
