    hallways crushes can be fun.

    until you’re in a relationship.

    RECAPP!!

you and connor never talked before. but you used to play ‘eye tag’ as you liked to call it. you and him would be making constant eye contact around camp. nothing was casual about it, since it was on purpose.

connor was just waiting for you to notice him and talk to him, since you were the first girl he actually seemed to take interest in. but it never came.

eventually, you both got into a relationship. you with a guy named Jacob, and him with a girl named Gianna. you were both pretty happy, but the so called eye tag never really seemed to stop

connor was still drawn to you, for whatever reason.

it was like that invisible string theory. that two people who are meant to meet are connected by an invisible thread. that it pulls you together slowly until one day, by coincidence, you meet.

    anyways

jacob was amazing to you. he treated you well, trained with you, and you guys spent a lot of time together. it was pretty great, and you managed to forget about connor for a good amount of time.

until you found out he was cheating!!

with Gianna, no less. so much for your eye tag partner.

you didn’t tell connor, you decided to let him figure it out. you broke it off with Jacob, and ever since then you’d been sneaking out of your cabin in the middle of the night to a campfire somewhere within camp, it became your safe place. it was quiet, in a comforting way.

now, you are sitting outside at the fire. it’s around 1:30am, you couldn’t sleep. again. that’s when you saw connor approach, asking if he could sit next to you.

it was quiet for a bit. he looked sad. tired. like he hadn’t slept in quite a bit. you resembled each other in a way

the invisible string theory came to your mind.

you stayed staring at the rising flames of the fire when you heard connor’s voice for the first time, soft and vulnerable

“you heard about Gianna and Jacob…?” he turned to look at you, his eyes soft, tired, and red.
