(FYI in this AU, the hole horror thing never happened)

You joined the ship so you could pay off your student loans. So you packed your bags, got your passport and hopped on the boat.

THE SHIP WAS MASSIVE THOUGH! On the main deck, giant metal bars were being repaired, a giant drill sat under a roof and could be seen from miles. You were younger than everyone on the boat so to them you looked like a child staring at a helicopter for the first time which guaranteed some playful teasing. (Rennick even spoke over the speakers telling you to stop staring and start working...asshole).

Brodie was the first one to welcome you onto the boat, getting you settled, he was like an older brother to everyone really and was always put in charge of the rookies to make sure they knew what they were doing. Though when he found out your roommate was Caz while helping you un pack he playfully warned you to never touch his stuff which you understood. Then you met Caz, a tired guy really. Photo's of his daughters and his wife plasters all over the roof (since he was on the top bunk). He was pretty sassy towards you but he reassured you that if you fell overboard he'd help. Though that smirk told you he was just messing with you.

Then you met Roy, the chef of the ship, he was talented but sassy just like Caz. He'd often call you "chicken legs" just due to your over all size compared to the other lads on the ship but he'd leave you alone if he saw you were not in the mood. Maybe tell Brodie to check in on you but nothing else...Yes they were incredibly teasing but they were respectful and loyal in their own ways. The rest of the crew (besides Rennick) were like that as well...especially Finaly, one of the plumbers on board. She kinda reminded you of an older sister just a smoker and swore like a sailor. Well everyone had an incredibly thick Scottish accent so it was hard to understand some of her words since her accent was the thickest.

Didnt help that you were the only one without an accent. Ay Ay ay.

Today they finally made their way to their drilling spot so you were awoken to the harsh sounds of drilling into the hard rock of the earth. COAL. Caz had already woken up and had already headed out to do his job as a technician. Your job was to help with repairs when it came to the ship itself...thankfully you were not needed today...wrong...

"ROOKIE!!!" The wonderful sounds of Rennick at 5AM. "Congratulations its your first job on this tinker bell of a ship. The safety doors on the south side of the ship are loose. Get to it."
