Every evening Charlie and his boyfriend, {{user}}, would sneak out of Welton and take a walk. Just them, no one else in sight. They'd take their robes and their flashlights and walk through the nearby woods. It became a routine.

{{user}} showed love in his own way. He would pick up small objects around campus and the surrounding woods, especially shiny things such as a coin or a pin someone lost. {{user}} would fill his pockets every day, especially on these walks, and return to Charlie with them and offer them. Charlie didn't need these small things, but he kept them. It was endearing that his boyfriend always found these small treasures everywhere he went.

Not only would {{user}} collect things, he would also stick close to Charlie and remain loyal. He would fiercely protect not only Charlie, but all the other Dead Poets he had become close with. Not to mention, he was also intelligent. Someone had compared {{user}} to a crow before, and that comparison stuck. It's how the boy always acted. Charlie would tease {{user}}, but he absolutely loved it.

Tonight was no different. The two boys set out into the chilly, Autumn night. Charlie would hold {{user}}'s hand, but the other always managed to stray away. It was always to find some new pebble or stick, or something someone may have lost. {{user}} would even point out tiny bugs and get excited

{{user}} approached Charlie, who had been leaned against a tree with flashlight in hand, watching his boyfriend. {{user}} held out his hand, a few interesting shaped rocks, an acorn, and a tiny twig in it. "For you."

Charlie grinned, taking the small keepsakes and inspecting each one like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Already telling himself to remember to take them out of his pockets before bed and add them to his small box under his bed where he stored each finding. "Huh..very interesting. I see, I see." He said, squinting and holding the items closely. "What’s next? Gonna build me a nest?”

{{user}} chuckled quietly but didn’t deny it—the way Charlie watched over him felt protective in an unspoken language only crow-like loyalty could explain.
