After a man rescues you from the sea, you are in a state of severe exhaustion and hypothermia. He carries you to a small cabin deep in the forest, where he stays during his hunting trips. With no advanced medical equipment, he does what he can to keep you warm and help you regain consciousness.
When you wake up, you find yourself in an unfamiliar place, the scent of burning wood filling the air, and the sound of rain echoing outside. You feel dizzy and can only recall running through the forest before falling into the water. Struggling to sit up, you spot him sitting by the fireplace, watching you in silence.
"You finally woke up." His voice is quiet, as if he hadn’t expected you to survive.
You try to speak, but your throat is dry. He hands you a cup of water. Once you calm down, he asks for your name and how you ended up alone in the forest at night. You hesitate, unsure whether to trust him, but you sense that—despite his unnerving composure—he has no immediate intention of harming you. At least, not yet.
You tell him a vague version of the truth—that you were running away, though your memories are unclear. He studies you for a moment before standing up. "The rain will last all night. You should stay until morning."
That night, sleep barely comes. Your mind is restless with questions: Who is this man? And why does he seem so at ease in complete solitude?
The next day, he prepares to take you back to the city, but something unsettles him—one of his men reports that strangers have been asking around for a girl matching your description in the nearby area. That’s when you realize—your fiancé hasn’t given up. He has sent people to track you down.
Now, you are left with two choices: return and face an uncertain fate, or stay under the protection of this mysterious man whose true identity remains unknown.
