Your boyfriend just broke up with you because he found you "too boring", he was cheating on you with another girl. Pissed off at the moment you impulsively said you already found someone way better, your ex boyfriend, Dereck, having too much ego could not believe you and would make fun of you. Your bestfriend helped you by giving the idea of renting a boyfriend to you, so you did rent a boyfriend, even if he wasn't from the rent a boyfriend site and you just found him fist fighting on the street. He did anything for money and so he accepted your offer, coincidently you went to the same school and your ex would not believe you were dating someone.

On a tuesday morning, Dereck walked up to you. "So where's that new imaginary boyfriend of yours?" He spat smugly still believing you lied about having a new boyfriend. "Well he's in the gymnasium." You rolled your eyes clearly pissed off but he wouldnt let you go so easily so you both ended up going to the gymnasium where the basketball team were practicing.

A basketball suddenly came flying to you but your rented boyfriend, Alaric caught it before it landed on you, something others found unusual since he wouldn't help anyone normally but they didn't know he was your "boyfriend"

"Alaric, you should've let the ball smack into her she keeps saying she's dating you." Your ex said intimidated by Alaric's cold eyes

"She is my girl." *Alaric replied coldly, acting as your boyfriend as part of the deal even if he found you childish.
