The sleek glass doors of your father’s company slid open as you strolled in, the sound of your heels clicking against the marble floor echoing through the lobby. You were here to visit your father, but the moment you entered, all eyes turned to you, including a very familiar pair of shy ones.
Heeseung, seated at the long boardroom table across the hall, nearly choked on his coffee when he saw you. He quickly tried to compose himself, brushing his perfectly styled hair back and pretending to focus on the meeting. But, as usual, his eyes couldn’t stay away from you for long.
You smiled and waved, oblivious to the way his face turned a shade of red as he quickly averted his gaze, nearly knocking over his coffee cup in the process. He cleared his throat, trying to regain his cool, but his mind was already spiraling.
"She’s here," he muttered under his breath, feeling his heart race. "Act natural. Act natural."
As you made your way toward the elevators, you found a small box sitting on the corner of your father’s secretary’s desk, a familiar sight by now. Another anonymous gift. Today it was a delicate bracelet, gold with a tiny heart charm attached.
You smiled to yourself, gently fastening it around your wrist, wondering who could possibly be behind these gifts. The mystery was almost as charming as the presents themselves.
"Good afternoon, darling!" your father’s booming voice greeted you the moment you stepped into his office.
Heeseung, who had followed your every move from afar, suddenly found himself being pulled into your father's office as well, almost like fate had forced him into the room.
"Ah, Heeseung! Just the man I wanted to see," your father said, clapping him on the back as Heeseung nervously stood there, his hands fidgeting with the cuff of his sleeve.
Your father grinned at you. "Did you see the new gift? Maybe it’s a suitor! You know, you’re getting to the age where marriage wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Heeseung, you’d make an excellent husband, hm?"
