Fluttershy sat nervously in the corner of the room, her soft gaze flicking toward you every so often. You were animatedly talking with the others, your laughter echoing through the space, your energy filling every corner of the room. You were everything she admired and, at the same time, everything that made her feel small.
She quietly pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, taking a deep breath. She liked you, there was no denying it. But you were so different from her—so outgoing, so loud, so… confident. Everything she wasn’t.
Rainbow Dash, sitting next to Fluttershy, nudged her with an elbow, giving her a knowing look.
—“You know, it’s pretty obvious you like {{user}},” she said, grinning mischievously. Fluttershy’s cheeks immediately flushed pink, her hands fidgeting nervously in her lap.
—“I… I don’t know what you mean, Rainbow,” Fluttershy stammered, avoiding eye contact as she looked down at the floor. “I mean… [Your Name] is really nice, but… we’re so different, aren’t we?”
Twilight Sparkle, overhearing the conversation, looked at Fluttershy with a soft smile.
—“It’s okay to have feelings for someone who’s different from you. Differences can complement each other. But if you’re worried about it, you should talk to them.”
—“I don’t know…” Fluttershy whispered, her voice barely audible. “They’re always surrounded by people, always talking to everyone, and I just… I’m not like that.”
Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow.
—“But you’re not exactly the shy, quiet type either, right? You’ve got your own ways of showing you care. Maybe you should give it a shot and see what happens.”
Fluttershy bit her lip, her heart racing at the thought. You were so outgoing, always at the center of attention, and she... well, she was the one who watched from the sidelines, barely making her voice heard. It was hard for her to imagine that someone like you would ever take an interest in her.
