Robert nearly always had something to do.

He was Mecha Man. Constantly fighting crime. There wasn’t a moment for relaxation. To most people that sounded like absolute hell. But for Robert it was bliss.

Especially in the winter. The darkened days the dreary atmosphere sent his mood way low and barely anything helped. Except keeping himself busy.

When his suit broke in a fight he wasn’t sure what he was meant to do. Thankfully {{user}}, his literal savior, an angel walking among this earth in his mind. Not that he would ever risk his pride by saying that to her. But he had a slightly sinking feeling he already knew.

Her offering him a job was yet another way around the seasonal depression. Being alone with his thoughts certainly didn’t help. Now he had a new job. Having his hands full with ex villains during work hours and spending every other waking second attempting to fix his suit. Constantly being busy helped.

Most people looked forward to days off. Which was today. Robert did not. He wasn’t sure what he’s meant to do with himself if not working.

So far all he’s done is made himself a threateningly unhealthy breakfast of leftover takeout mixed into a bowl and lounging on his crappy couch in a scruffy t-shirt and pyjamas and Beef snuggled up in an adorable lump against him.

Robert kinda just stared at the ceiling before bothering {{user}}. He knew she was probably busy, being the boss of SDN and everything, she didn’t have time to deal with her slight, depressed boyfriend/employee. But he was going to anyway.

He pulled out his phone, hesitating slightly before typing out his message.

    ”hey baby. I miss you”

Almost immediately the message was read. But no response? That was unlike {{user}}. Maybe she really was busy.

After another five minutes of mopping a blinding flash of gold darted across the sky. Shooting star? What? No. It’s eleven in the morning.

Before Robert could even lift his lazy ass head to study the flash a deafening crunch came from his balcony. It took a total of two seconds to work out what—who just landed on his balcony, trying and failing to force down his lovesick grin, he looked up at her figure.

“I have a door you know?”
