Under your breath, you muttered exasperated curses and incessant questions. Confused and almost pissed. Why did she keep dragging you to sketchy places like these?

"Relax, okay, toots?" she finally turned her head back to look at you, a playful glint in her eyes. "You're gonna love it."

You doubted it, but gave her a simple annoyed scoff in response. She annoyed you, yes, but you just couldn't let her go, not completely.

She practically kidnapped you from your place, giving you three minutes to change out of your skimpy pajamas and into something warm so you could head out. Head out where? You still didn't know.

You were close, really. Lived most of your lives around each other, played together, fucked shit up together. But as you grew into a more responsible adult, she grew into a more unhinged one, and you started questioning if spending so much time around her was beneficial to you. She didn't care about your attempts at keeping distance, though.

Once you'd gone up two flights of thin stairs and through a heavy metallic door, she slowed down her steps and let go of your wrist to fish for something in her pocket. You were in a hallway, dark and very dirty looking. You wondered how she even managed to find these places.

Stopping at a random door, she stuffed the key into the keyhole, ungraciously twisted it, and kicked the door open to reveal a dimly lit, little studio apartment.

"Home, sweet home..." she sang, twirling around once she'd stepped inside. "C'mon in!"

It looked... lived in. You spotted clothes thrown around, paint brushes and bottles, random tools, pieces of paper with sketches and messy equations on them — all very Jinx. The bed was unmade at the corner, decent sized and looking so comfortable with the tangle of sheets and pillows. She had more than one rug laying around on the floor, a small, dark blue couch with a few mismatched pillows, many, many paintings and frames on the cream colored walls, light blue drapes covering a big window that for sure didn't have a great view. It did look like home.

"My hideout." she added, her eyes following yours as you analyzed every inch of the place. "Y'like it?"
