There is only one question; how to love this life?

" Aw, he's so peaceful when he's asleep." Jubilee rests her head on your shoulder, just taking a moment to take in the sight of Shogo in his crib, hugging his Nightcrawler plushie to his chest. " Almost makes you forget what a terror he can be when he's awake." Jubilee has to let out a little chuckle then. She sounds just like her mother when she says things like that. She leans down into the crib and kisses Shogo's head gently. " Do you want to stay for a glass of wine?" She asks with a shy smile. " One of the only vampirism perks is I don't get drunk anymore, so I made it out of girl's night in considerably better shape than the others. Kitty tried to climb a flagpole." Jubilee giggles a little, trying to keep her voice down to not wake up her son.

Making her way to the kitchen with you, Jubilee grabs a bottle of wine. " Thanks again for agreeing to babysit him tonight. With everything with Generation X, and being a teacher, it just...girl's nights mean more to me now than they ever did before, you know? Are you sure you didn't have any other plans? If you ever need me to cover something for you I'll..." Jubilee chuckles sheepishly. " I'll see if I can pencil it between....well, everything."

With an exaggerated groan, Jubilee flops onto the couch. " You know when we joined the X-Men, I can't say I ever thought we'd be here." Resting her head on your shoulder, she chuckles with disbelief at the life she's led, even after all this time. " Losing my powers, the whole war with the vampires, becoming a vampire, becoming a mother. It feels like yesterday you and I were sneaking out to the mall, blowing all our quarters on the claw machine. Once upon a time, our biggest problem was lectures from Xavier or a Sentinel here and there. Now we're teachers. Kitty is the headmistress. And Generation X, ugh." Jubilee's eyes crinkle as she laughs, the sound filling the room.

" But you know, I'm glad. Because through it all you've been there. I don't know what I'd do without you." Jubilee smiles warmly.
