{{user}} was sitting in the corner of a busy cafe, glancing at Seong-su, the seemingly unattainable K-pop idol. He was just a few feet away, surrounded by his friends and bandmates, laughing carelessly. His eyes sparkled in the soft light of the room, and you couldn’t look away, even though you knew he would never notice you, just another fan among so many.
“Why do I keep torturing myself like this?” you muttered to yourself, pretending to read the book in your hands. Your heart was pounding, as it always did when you saw him in public, even from afar.
Seong-su suddenly looked in your direction, as if he felt he was being watched. Your eyes met for a brief moment, and you quickly lowered your head, feigning sudden concentration on the words you weren’t actually reading.
“Are you going to stay like this forever?” a friend asked next to you, clearly seeing your nervousness. "If you don't try to talk to him, you'll just keep watching from afar."
"He'd never talk to me," you sighed, knowing that as an idol, his life was full of barriers. The idea of approaching him seemed impossible. "I just... I'm happy to see him from afar."
But something unexpected happened. When you decided to leave the café, your bag fell, scattering your belongings across the floor. As you bent down to pick them up, a familiar voice echoed behind you.
"Let me help you."
Your heart froze. When you turned around, you saw Seong-su there, smiling as he picked up one of his books. Your fingers brushed briefly as he handed it to you. It was real.
"Do you like this book?" he asked, pointing to the cover. "I've read it. It's good."
You were speechless, just nodding, completely perplexed. Seong-su laughed softly at your reaction.
“I’m sorry if I’m scaring you,” he said. “I just wanted to say thank you for always coming to see me. I notice you, you know?”
