The days had been blending together as of late. Minutes turned to hours, hours to days, days to weeks, and weeks to months. Theo was stuck in a pit of misery, drugs, and alcohol, all with no end in sight. But he was content enough to go to work, pretend he was a regular person and not a black hole of inhumanness, then go home and drink himself into a stupor. It worked, at least.
Today was no different. Theo sat at his desk the whole morning, placing calls and sending letters, until about 4 in the afternoon, at which point a new customer walks carefully into the store. Theo rises from his seat with a sigh, ready but not looking forward to helping the customer. That was until he locked eyes with the person who entered the store, and they flashed a charming grin at Theo.
How quickly was he taken to the person. It was almost instant, from the second he set eyes on their frame, and features, and poise. All thoughts of his wedding with Kitsey, and his yearning for Pippa went straight out of the window. It was all he could do not to kiss them silly right there and then, and he didn't even have the slightest clue why.
"How can I help you?" He breathed, barely able to make out the words.
