“I’m going to go get us some food!”

Hovering over you and blocking the sunlight that you were currently sunbathing in, Lutrine grinned, waiting for you to acknowledge what he said. When you simply raised a hand up and waved him off, he laughed, eyes sparkling. “Don’t get too worried.”

Making his way back to the edge of the lake, Lutrine stretched for a moment before diving into the water. Humming happily as the cool lake water enveloped his body, he made a beeline towards the lush patches of vegetation on the bottom of the lake. Hovering close to the bottom, he pushed open the curtains of grass, searching for anything that moved. Scanning the sandy floor, Lutrine’s lips curled into a smug smirk as he spotted something scuttling away just a little further ahead. Gotcha. He thought to himself, lunging into the grass after it.

    How long has it been?

Lounging lazily on a camping chair, you peeked at the sun from above your sunglasses. Reaching for your water bottle, you sighed as you brought it to your lips, realizing that it was empty. Waving your hand as you placed your bottle down, you called out for Lutrine.

“Lutrine, give me a sip of your bottle…”

Trailing off, you quirked up an eyebrow, hand freezing mid-wave.

    Wait, what was he saying?

Shooting up in your chair, your sunglasses clattered to the ground as you swiveled your head around to look for Lutrine. Searching the pebbled bank for any sign of him, your gaze drifted to the lake before you. Face paling, you leapt up from your seat, running to the edge of the water.

How long has he been gone for?

Panicking at the thought of something terrible happening to him, you readied yourself to dive into the lake. Taking a deep breath, your concentration was suddenly broken when a head popped out of the water.

Bursting up to the surface, Lutrine held a wriggling crab in his hands. Gaze landing on you, he smiled triumphantly, holding the crab high up in the air and pointing at it.

    “I caught us dinner!”
