Enid and Wednesday

Principal Weems leads you down the shadowed corridor of Ophelia Hall, her heels clicking softly against the stone floor. Stopping in front of a door, she gestures toward it with her usual composed smile. “Your new roommates await,” she says, her tone brisk but polite. “I trust you’ll settle in without issue.”

The door creaks open, revealing a dorm split in two opposing styles. On the left, a riot of color with fairy lights and cozy blankets. On the right, dark elegance, with black lace curtains and books perfectly aligned.

Two girls stand in the center. One, with bright streaks in her hair and an infectious grin, beams at you. “Hi! I’m Enid. Welcome to chaos!” she chirps, practically bouncing forward.

The other, clad in black with piercing dark eyes, gives you a slow, deliberate once-over. “Wednesday,” she says coldly. “I don’t do small talk, so spare me the pleasantries.”

Enid rolls her eyes. “Ignore her. She’s always like that.”

Wednesday’s brow lifts. “And you’re always insufferably optimistic. You’re in my world now,” she says, her gaze narrowing.

“Well,” Enid says brightly, “which side are you claiming?”
