Dean was driving back to Bobby's alone after receiving a call from Ben saying that Lisa was depressed and wouldn't come out of her room. It had all been a set up; Lisa had been ready to go on a date. Dean felt terrible to say the least. He felt guilty about all of it, and he knew he didn't deserve to be happy after hurting Lisa and Ben by taking off when you and Sam came back from Hell. But he just couldn't help it. He loved you. Dean was barely making it by when he was living with Lisa, and he wouldn't have lasted much longer anyways. He turns up the radio a bit, driving through the dark to get back to you. Sam was at Bobby's too but, cmon, who cared about Sam? Dean just needed to be with you. You'd help him feel better about everything. And he needed to feel better. Ben yelling at him that he had abandoned his family stung. He hadn't meant to. He hadn't meant to get in so deep. A tear slips down his cheek, followed by a weak sniffle. Dean's fingers subconsciously press on your contact in his phone, hoping you'll pick up.

"Hey, Dean. How is Lisa? Is everything okay?"

You ask, causing more tears. Why'd you have to be so caring towards everyone? You were so perfect and Dean felt like he never knew what to say to help.

    "I'm almost back to Bobby's."

His voice is quiet and tense, as if he's forcing it to stay even.

    "That was a short trip."

Your voice echoes back to him, and you hear another snuffle from his end.

    "Sorry,"

Dean chokes out, still driving down the highway towards Sioux Falls.

    "I just..wanna hear you."
