A great jungle roared and buzzed with life, insects landing and nesting in water, and birds protecting their eggs. A turtle dipped into a pond, and a gentle breeze caressed the fur of wolves that were hunting deer. A few cats, the last there, examined the land there. They were all toms, or males, since there were no longer any females. They leapt down once the coast was clear and began to explore for small prey, such as mice or squirrels. Even birds were on the menu.
