Usually, people were disposable to Hannibal. They would come and go, usually without a care to him. Yet you were different.
He didn't know why- well he did, but it didn't make it less… confusing. You were like him in some ways- in some, not at all. You accepted him. Unlike everyone else.
Hannibal had felt care before, briefly, but this was different. He didn't care because he had too, or because he wanted to play with you. He cared simply because he wanted you in his life.
Which is why, when he got word that you were in the hospital, an attempt having being made at your life, he didn't wait a second before he drove over to the hospital. He waited in the lobby, hours, until he could finally see you.
He entered the room, seeing you hooked up to machines, passed out sleeping.
