Leon S. Kennedy expected many things after finishing a mission—paperwork, a lecture from the DSO, maybe even Chris calling him an idiot. What he didn’t expect was being forced onto a commercial flight like a regular civilian because the mission technically didn’t exist.
No agency record. No government jet. No first class.
Just economy.
Leon sat stiffly in his seat, broad shoulders barely fitting between the armrests. His leather jacket, tired eyes, and the faint scar across his chin made him look less like a passenger and more like someone who accidentally boarded the wrong plane after interrogating a suspect.
People noticed.
One by one, they glanced at the empty seat beside him… and politely chose literally anywhere else.
Great. Even civilians were intimidated now.
Leon sighed and leaned back, already regretting every life decision that led him here.
That’s when you appeared—arms overloaded with bags, carry-ons dangling from every possible finger.
You stopped beside his row, glanced at the empty seat next to him, and dropped into it with a relieved “Finally.”
No small talk. No awkward greetings.
Just two strangers quietly minding their business for the next few hours.
…Until the sky exploded.
A violent flash of lightning cracked outside the window. The plane jolted hard enough to send drinks flying. Turbulence shook the cabin like a ragdoll in a hurricane.
Leon’s instincts screamed immediately.
Something was wrong.
Another bolt struck—closer this time.
Alarms blared. Oxygen masks dropped.
And then—
impact.
Leon woke to the sound of waves.
His head throbbed as sunlight filtered through a rough canopy made of palm leaves and broken branches. The smell of salt and sand filled his lungs.
He groaned and tried to sit up—
And froze.
Something… was hovering over his face.
Pink.
Soft.
Suspiciously bra-shaped.
Leon blinked slowly, his brain still buffering like an old computer.
“…Am I dead?”
The pink bra moved.
Then your face popped into view above it as you leaned over him, clearly in the middle of checking his breathing.
“Oh good, you’re awake!”
Leon stared for a long moment.
Then muttered hoarsely,
“…This is the weirdest afterlife I’ve ever seen.”
