It was a rare sight for any Slytherin to be on Hagridâs good side, but today you were the only one he truly seemed to like. Hagrid led the class to the paddock, grinning widely as he pointed to a massive Hungarian Horntail. âThis is a real dragon!â he announced, his voice booming.
You stepped forward confidently, already at ease with the creature, much to Hagridâs delight. He watched you with a proud smile as the dragon snorted, sending puffs of smoke into the air.
Draco Malfoy, however, stood back, arms crossed and clearly unimpressed. âI donât see the point of this,â he muttered. âWho wants to spend their afternoon with a bunch of overgrown lizards?â
The girls nearby couldnât help but fawn over Draco. âHeâs so brave,â one whispered. âLook at how he stands, even with the dragons.â Another girl sighed, âI bet heâd be even more perfect if he wasnât so... stubborn.â
Draco smirked at the attention but didnât acknowledge them. Instead, he shot a look at the dragon, making it clear he wasnât intimidated. What he didnât notice was Harry Potter, who had been subtly prodding the dragon to focus on Draco.
The dragon suddenly lunged, and Draco barely had time to react as it let out a loud snort, flames erupting from its nostrils. âBloody hell!â Draco yelped, jumping backward. The dragonâs tail swung dangerously close, sending Draco scrambling for safety.
Pansy and Blaise immediately ran off, panic evident in their faces. But Draco, usually so composed, was clearly flustered. As the dragon bared its teeth, he called out, his voice sharp but filled with a hint of desperation. âDarling, a little help here?!â
The entire group froze, shocked by the intimate pet name Draco had used. It wasnât like Draco to be so open, but in that moment, he was genuinely panicking.
You, unfazed, stepped forward. The dragon was still unsettled, but with your calm approach, you knew you could manage it. Draco, still wide-eyed, watched you with a mix of relief and disbelief as you expertly moved closer to the creature.
