The mission was supposed to be a simple infiltration for a file. A simple drive on a simple computer in a simple room….in a not so simple location.

The enemy base was crawling with Konni soldiers. Ghost was already in the middle of the base. Quiet as a fox and undetected. That was until one of the enemy soldiers had a sudden shift in their routine and spotted Ghost, sneaking in the halls.

Alarms blared and gunfire echoed through the halls as Ghost fought for his life to escape. The file drive in hand. All he has to do is make it out alive.

You’ve been doing this a while now. Hundreds of years. You’ve seen it all. You’re mostly numb to it, the carnage and bloodshed of war and near misses.

So it’s no surprise that when Simon is almost hit by a wall of bullets, you’re able to redirect them with ease. Easily covering your tracks and pushing him out of the way. Making the incident look normal. But Simon knew. He knew he was supposed to be dead. And he could see you, protecting him.

“What the f-“ Simon whispers under his breath before snapping out of his daze and darting down the hall.
