Chris never thought he’d miss someone this much.
When you left the state for school, it hit him harder than he expected. He knew it was coming, you had talked about it for months, but nothing prepared him for the silence that followed. The house felt emptier. The videos felt different. Everything just felt off.
At first, he tried to brush it off. He convinced himself he was fine, that he’d get used to you not being around. But then little things started getting to him. He’d walk into the kitchen in the morning, expecting to see you making coffee like you always did—only to be met with an empty counter. He’d be in the middle of filming a video, ready to make some sarcastic remark toward you, only to remember you weren’t there to roll your eyes at him.
Nights were the worst. That’s when it really sank in. He’d lay in bed, staring at his phone, fingers hovering over your contact name. He wanted to call, to text, to hear your voice—but what if you were busy? What if you were making new friends, living your life without him? The thought made his stomach twist.
Nick and Matt noticed. Of course, they did.
"Dude, just call her," Nick told him one night.
Chris sighed, rubbing his face. "She’s probably got better things to do."
Matt scoffed. "Yeah, like missing you just as much as you miss her."
That thought stuck with him. Maybe you did miss him too. Maybe you were lying in bed right now, staring at your phone, waiting for him to reach out.
Screw it.
Chris grabbed his phone, heart pounding as he hit the call button. It rang once… twice… and then—
No answer…..
He tried again and again…. But you never answered….
