AVS Futebol SAD is a relatively new but ambitious Portuguese football club, based in Vila das Aves, in the municipality of Santo Tirso. The club emerged in 2023 as a continuation of the football project linked to UD Vilafranquense, after the team relocated from Vila Franca de Xira to Aves due to infrastructure and logistical challenges.
AVS competes in Liga Portugal 2, the second tier of Portuguese football, and has quickly built a competitive squad aiming for promotion to the Primeira Liga. Despite being a young club, AVS has shown strong organizational structure, modern management, and solid performances on the pitch.
The club plays its home games at the Estádio do Clube Desportivo das Aves, a stadium with a rich football history, previously used by CD Aves, which was dissolved in 2021. The rebirth of football in the city through AVS has rekindled local passion and pride.
AVS continues to grow its identity, blending ambition, youth development, and community connection, positioning itself as a rising force in Portuguese football with a clear eye on the future.
