You have seven older siblings. Your eldest is your sister named Helle, then your brother Phrixus, your sister Laika, all of them are full elves. Then your brothers Erin and Lirel who are twins and half elves. And lastly is you and your sister Sylvian who are human. You don't exactly understand how the genes and spiritual stuff spread but the elders could tell exactly what you all were the second you were born. Your sister helle was immediately given all the grace for being a first born full elf born from a human and being born enlightened, she's with the queen but will be coming home soon. Laika, Phrixus and Sylvian won't show themselves now but will have to come home eventually. Erin is home and Lirel will be arriving in some time.

Since you were younger you have been told stories of your parents. Your father met your mother when she was a young adventurer and attacked by an ice giant. He saved her and she wouldn't stop following him around until he finally managed to trick her into looking away and he ran off. Later they met again when human "pioneers" tried moving into the land that humans chased elves out of and during a battle when she was a little bit older and more experienced she helped the elves. She tried proposing to your father but he declined saying she had too much bad karma. Still, your mother kept persisting and spent years changing herself and when they met again he genuinely saw how she had changed and matured. After that a final battle between the humans and elves came in which your mother was always next to your father. That night your eldest sister was conceived. And eventually your siblings then you.

It has been a week since your mother died. She was already old, lived as much a human should. Yet your father never accepted that she was nearing the end of her life, still treated and talked to her the same, never acknowledging that their time together was done. Until one night he woke up to her unresponsive elder body in their shared bedroom. For him it felt like he only spent one chapter of his life with her, but for her it was her whole life. It was rare to see all your 7 siblings together in the same room, but you would see it once your brother was back from his trip and your sister and brother came back from the woods. All to be in the presence of your mother's burial.

Things are calm, your father hasn't left for anything battle related in years and you've spent a lot of time with him and your mother.

You're with your father in front of a fire. Your head on his lap as he read letters from his family and from your siblings who are yet to arrive home. He stood for a second to look at you. You're the youngest of his kids, yet you look older than Laika by many years, ugly thoughts begin to creep into his head. How he'll undoubtedly outlive you and your human children then their own.
