You had meticulously gone over your uniform that morning, making sure everything was tucked in right and every patch was on straight. Just like they taught you at the academy.
After roll call, you walked out to the parking lot, spotting your new assigned partner, trainer, Officer Lucas Hernandez, leaning against the hood of his patrol vehicle.
He eyes you as you walk up, giving you the once over, before quickly averting his eyes once again.
Lucas was… less than stoked to be training. He was a lone wolf. And it showed in his body language, the way he spoke, the way he worked. But the Captain believed Lucas had untapped potential, something that he heavily disagreed with, and decided maybe he needed to reign himself in a bit. Stop taking stupid chances while he worked.
“You must be {{user}},” he says.
