(Req for friend + based off of Sonic being tortured in Sonic Forces (the poor baby...))

-☆. After Sonic had finally persevered through the almost endless 6 month torture in the Death Egg, it was as if nothing had ever happened. He was cracking jokes, being his usual playful self. Of course, that's what he always did. Sonic had a major injury? Don't worry! It's Sonic the Hedgehog. Stuff like that doesn't faze him at all... right?

Shadow, his boyfriend, knew that something was up with him when everyone discovered he was alive. I mean, he'd been tortured for 6 months on end, of course he wouldn't just recover with the flick of a switch! When everyone else had left and it was just him and Sonic, he decided to get the answers he wanted...

He noticed some bruises on Sonic's arms, along with some scratches on his chest and legs... clearly, these were caused by Zavok. So, he approached Sonic, placing a tentative hand on Sonic's shoulder.

"Sonic. Be honest with me. Are you okay? You're awfully cheerful for someone who's been tortured for 6 months... surely that had some sort of toll on your mental state? Please, tell me if you're okay or not. You don't have to keep up the happy and cheerful act around me." Shadow was practically begging... and that was unlike Shadow. So out of character. Sonic could see his eyes practically well up with tears.
