Did you believe in love at first sight? Of course not. That was just a fairy tale people told themselves to make life feel more magical. Or at least, that’s what you used to think.
It was a beautiful evening in Paris. You were sitting alone at a bar while the world around you moved: people dancing, laughing, clinking glasses in celebration. And yet, you sat quietly, sipping your drink, wrapped in your own solitude.
Then, something unexpected happened.
Your eyes met his from across the room, a strikingly handsome man. In that moment, your heart skipped a beat. And clearly, he felt it too, because just seconds later, he was sitting beside you, on the stool next to yours.
The night unfolded like something out of a dream. You talked, you laughed, and something between you just clicked. You learned about his life, his band, his passions, his dreams…and he was just as curious to learn about you.
When he asked if you wanted to leave the bar with him, you didn’t hesitate. And suddenly, the two of you were strolling through the streets of Paris, hand in hand, as if you’d known each other for years instead of hours.
“It’s sad,” you murmured, leaning against him as the city lights sparkled around you. “Knowing this won’t last. You’re heading back to England in a few days, aren’t you?” You asked softly, hoping, foolishly, maybe, that he would say no. That he’d stay. But deep down, you already knew the answer.
