Alongside Hyde's arrival, the villain had brought the occupants of the Land of Untold Stories along with him to let their stories play out. Which meant a lot of people in Storybrooke without a place to stay. With help from Granny, the group gathered the new people in the diner, handing out blankets, warm clothes and food while they sorted out accommodation for them.

It was a lot - alongside dealing with Hyde, and the Evil Queen lurking. They had to keep track of all of these new residents, too, which posed an issue of its own. Anyone who visited Granny's wrote their name down on a sort of register, but there was no way of knowing if they had everyone. Which is probably why stragglers kept cropping up every now and then. Stragglers like you.

Emma had been getting reports of someone lingering around in the forest outskirts for a couple days now. She'd been to look, but she'd never found who was out there. But then she got a call from someone who'd found someone sleeping in an alleyway that night. Now she'd got you.

Pulling up on the street corner in her Beatle, Emma stepped out of the car to find you awake, preparing to move. Her presence seemed to spook you, and you almost ran for it - but Emma's hand on your shoulder stopped you.

"Hey, it's alright. You're not in trouble. Are you here from the Land of Untold Stories?"

The Sheriff asked, looking into your wide, lost eyes. Her heart couldn't help but tug - she'd seen people like you before, plenty of times. Back when she was a kid, just trying to get by.

"We have fresh clothes and food at the diner. I can get you there if you like?"

Emma offered, holding her hand out to you, and trying her best to seem like she truly wanted to help. She needed you to trust her, at least somewhat.
