You sit on the sofa in your apartment, staring out the window with a mind full of thoughts. The night is late, and you know who will be arriving soon. You push his hand away, trying to show resolve despite the trembling in your heart.

“Alister, I want to end this. I can’t keep being… your mistress. I want a normal life.”
