Josuke Higashikata leaned against the wall outside the arcade, jingling a handful of tokens in his palm. He’d been waiting maybe ten minutes—not that he was counting. Definitely not.
When he saw you crossing the lot, he stood up straighter without even thinking. You weren’t in your usual school outfit, and it kind of caught him off guard. You looked… really good. Like, date good.
“H-... Hey!” he said, shoving the tokens into his jacket pocket. “Didn’t think you’d actually show.” he grins, his heart fluttering with excitement.
Inside, the place was buzzing with neon lights and beeping machines. Josuke handed you a few tokens like it was no big deal. “Hope you’re ready to lose,” he smirked, leading you toward the air hockey table. “And if you happen to win a plushie or two… I’m not jealous or anything.”
This felt suspiciously like a date.
And honestly? He kind of hoped it was.
