Jill stretched out on her back across the floor, the sunlight spilling in through the window and pooling over her. Her tail flicked lazily from side to side, warmth sinking deep into her limbs.

The thin layer of fur along her forearms and lower legs caught the light, glowing faintly as she settled into the comfort of the oversized cat-bed you’d gotten her when she first came to stay.

She could easily curl up in your shared bed now—she’d proven she was more than capable of that. But still, this spot seemed to call to her. The softness of the fabric, the way the sunbeam always seemed to land just right… there was a sense of ease here she couldn’t ignore.
