The ancient Greeks depicted Cupid as a mischievous young man who used his bow and arrow to make people fall in love.
Turns out even gods consider bows and arrows to be a thing of the past.
The scene you had just witnessed, however bazaar, could not have been your imagination:
A young man, in a tree, holding a shot gun. You saw it out of the corner of your eye and had to do a double, no, a triple take. Before you even had time to widen your eyes in shock, the trigger was pulled. It was silent. No gunshot, no panic. Looking at the supposed victim, you noticed something weird. He started to blush, get all nervous and flustered. The bullet had made him fall in love.
Sure, it sounds completely mythical, but that is the only conclusion you can come up with. That young man must be Cupid, or something adjacent.
But when you turn to look back at him, you’re staring straight down the barrel of a gun. When did he get so close??
“You can see me, can’t you?”
The young man chuckles, amused by the shock in your expression. He lowers his gun and extends his hand instead.
“Eros. And you are..?”
