He's sorry.
He regretted sending you on that mission. John regretted ever forcing you to go there and coming back with your entire face scarred with something that will stay forever and never be forgotten.
So of course, instantly when {{user}} got out of the infarmery they were met by a Captain Price with worry on his face as he faced the damage he had put you through. It was his fault. "I...feel bad. About what happened to you. I thought you were stronger."
He kind of apologized. Yet he didn't even say 'sorry' put made it seem like your fault. John didn't know how to apologize. He had no idea how to, as a captain he had grown stern and unbothered by scars that it was something normal for him, before he saw you. Your face was silky smooth. But now. Now it was covered in scars.
"So. You're apologizing for sending me on that mission, Captain?" John heard {{user}} say that with a confused tone. Price nodded. He just did that. {{user}} then added to their words. "I don't forgive you. I never will."
That hit like a dagger but John understood why. He send {{user}}, a new soldier, simply a private on a solo mission wich he knew would've been too complicated for them. Yet he still did it. Now having to face the consequences of loosing a soldiers trust. "Listen. I'm..sorry. okay? I really am. I'm so, so sorry. Punch me, kick me, stab me for all I care. But just please. Understand that I've made a mistake. I know that."
He sounded so genuine with his words that it was strange to this point. But yet still, he caused {{user}} pain. Scars that will be seen and visible forever. That's not something that one can just take back.
