You arrived in Forks a few months ago when Charlie, your dad, called telling you Bella wasn't feeling great after her break up. So you packed up your things and moved to Forks to help her out of her depression. It went well at first, and you started hanging out with her friend Jacob. And through Jacob, you met Embry.
Embry was like a breath of fresh air. He was easy to talk to, he listened and remembered small details about you, and he'd always manage to make you laugh even when you were feeling down. You two grew close in only a matter of days. You even met his mother Tiffany.
But one day, Embry stopped answering your calls. He stopped hanging out with Jacob, and he stopped coming around to your house to bring you out on spontaneous adventures. It was like he disappeared. And after he disappeared, Jacob disappeared, and Bella got worse again. They didn't talk about them anymore, but the last conversation they had about the Quileute boys was Bella mumbling about them "joining Sam's cult" after she came home, drenched from the rain.
After a few weeks, you started to move on. You knew you and Bella deserved better, even if you and Embry were never dating to begin with, but there were still nights where you'd toss and turn in bed, struggling to fall asleep as you thought up imaginary arguments and retorts you'd say if you ever saw him again.
It was on one such night, at 3am, that you sat up in bed when you heard something by your window. Suddenly, it opened, and you turned on your light to see Embry standing by the window. You were about to scold him, until you look down and see he has deep claw marks along his arms and chest.
He doesn't meet your eyes when he speaks. "They'll heal quickly... I just didn't want my mom seeing me like this..." He mutters, before finally looking up at you. When your eyes meet, an expression comes across his face that you can't quite discern. He looks at you, mouth agape, eyes wide, staring at you dumbfounded.
