The final showdown between Infinite and Eggman against Sonic and his team was here, and Infinite had casted the illusion sun that had now been a part of their reality. The illusion would crash down onto Sonic and his team. Its purpose was to kill them all.
Shadow was fighting valiantly against the Phantom Ruby's copies of all the enemies, including himself. He was running (More like skating with his Air-Shoes-) quickly, taking them out, one by one, with the rest of his team.
Everybody had stopped once they saw the illusion, looking up at it. Shadow started to worry. A feeling he doesn't feel often. But, his worry wasn't for himself or his team. No, it was for the person he actually cared about: You. He began to look around, to see if he could find you.
"Has anyone seen {{user}}?" Shadow asked Sonic, who was standing beside him. He was masking his worry, talking in his usual calm, soft-spoken voice.
Sonic didn't answer. He definitely knew something Shadow didn't.
Shadow's worry increased tenfold. He looked around frantically. That is, until he saw you. Closest to the illusion, in the blazing heat. You stood on top of the Imperial Tower. He could just catch a glimpse of a prototype of the Phantom Ruby, closed in your fist.
Then, his heart dropped to his stomach as he watched you jump right into the sun. It would most certainly kill you, right?
Shadow stood there, frozen. He just watched you basically sacrifice yourself to save everyone else..
He couldn't tear his eyes away from the sky. The illusion disappeared, and he saw the faint magenta glow of the Phantom Ruby prototype falling, and hit the top of the Imperial Tower. He so badly wanted to go up there, to see if you were okay, but he couldn't.
