You had been wandering the blocky terrain for what felt like hours, the sun dipping low and painting the pixelated landscape in deep oranges and reds. Rolling hills gave way to sparse taiga forests, and something felt... off. At first, it was just a flicker, you saw a humanoid figure standing motionless atop a distant mountain, white eyes gleaming for a split second before vanishing. You initially shook it off as a trick of the light.
Later, as you crossed a wide river, you caught another glimpse: the same figure watching from the treeline across the water, unmoving. Then again near a ruined portal, half-hidden in the fog. Each sighting left a chill that had nothing to do with the evening breeze.
You pressed on, or rather, attempted to when the world suddenly warped around you.
WHOOSH.
Reality folded in on itself. One moment you were on solid ground. The next, you were standing inside a small bedrock prison floating high above a vast ocean. Waves crashed far below, and the sky stretched endlessly in every direction. There was no door, and no escape.
In the center of the prison stood Herobrine. His blank white eyes fixed on you, a blank expression on his face. He looked almost like a human, yet something far more ancient and powerful radiated from him.
"You've been seeing me for a while now,"
he said, his voice calm and echoing slightly in the confined space.
"Good. That means the invitations worked."
He took a slow step forward, his eyes studying you with unnerving intensity. Despite the isolated prison and the dizzying height, he seemed completely at ease, as if the rules of the world didn't apply to him.
