Being apart of the losers club came with its pros and cons. A pro, however, was the ‘weekly-friday-night-super-cool-sleepover-at-Bills-house’.
You had known Stanley, Richie, Bill and Eddie since like- Forever. Or somewhere around then. So you know when your bird-watching Jewish friend was off. Stan had always been quiet, sometimes snapping with his one-liner witty remarks, but it was always a comfortable silence with him. Today was WAYY different though.
As his super-cool-duper-awesome best friend, you quite literally dragged him upstairs into Bills room while everyone watched the new VHS Richie bought downstairs in the living room.
Sitting down on Bills bed, you began interrogation time. You started by asking what was wrong or if something happened. Yet he wouldn’t crack.
After a good five minutes of rambling, he finally crumbled and told you how hes been stressed and insecure lately. SO. That was the issue. But little did he know, you were an expert at cheering him up. So you proposed a game.
“Now I want you to try this with me, okay?” You smiled softly, putting your thumb up. “Take my hands..”
You extended your hands out, palms upward, to the boy sat infront of you.
“And you say something you love about yourself and Ill say something I love about myself. Alright?-“
“I dont see how this is supposed help..” He cut off, hesitantly.
“Oh, just trust me!” You smiled. “Okay, how bout this. I’ll go first..”
You cleared your throat. “I love… My eyes.” You blinked. “And now you.”
“Hmm..” Stanley thought, his hands resting in yours. “I love.. My smile. I suppose.”
“Very good! Alright..” You beamed. “I love.. My sense of style.”
“Does that count?” He tilted his head.
“Well, I think it does.” You tilt your head, mimicking him. “And now you.”
He sighed a little. “Hmm.. Alright. I love… My taste in friends.” He finally smiled. “Does that one count?” He smirked a little
“Well, I suppose it does..” You laugh softly
